No dear. "Loss" includes many things, from sudden abandonment, imprisonment, betrayal, to any experience where someone you loved suddenly wasn't available anymore, and your nervous system got stuck in threat mode as a result. This is very common in adult children of absent parents. But you don’t even need to remember the event. You just need to know that you want to feel better than you do now.

A Final Note From Me
Ten years ago, I dialed a suicide hotline and burst into tears. I did not want to die; I just didn’t want to live the way I did anymore. I have let my anxiety bring me to my knees, and I am not speaking metaphorically. I didn’t just want to heal. I NEEDED to heal!
But I was always worried about the money. I didn’t know back then that my anxiety and shame had prevented me from seeing myself as worthy of investment.
